Replacing Rotten Deck Boards

Decks need a lot of maintenance. Boards rot. Stain fades... This deck had a few rotten boards that needed replacing. It was much harder than I originally planned on. And much harder than it looks looking at this photo. 

I could not remove the old rusty screws. So I thought I could drill the heads of but that did not work either. I basically had to muscle them off using a flatbar and a lot of calories. I had to preserve the boards while removing them so I could use them as a template.
